Hand-finished in our Reykjavík atelier at Laugavegur 23—the historic house with the Valkyrie mural—each piece reflects a commitment to sustainable, ethical craftsmanship that has defined our family’s manufacturing legacy since 1991.
The Sensation
Experience weightless warmth. Knitted from an exclusive blend of 88% Baby Suri Alpaca and 12% Silk, this garment offers exceptional breathability and natural temperature regulation. The unique composition ensures it remains gentle and soft, providing a soothing touch even for the most sensitive skin. We produce 2 versions of Lía beanies: bouclé and brushed. In bouclé yarn silk is wrapping alpaca wool and you feel a more silky smooth texture. In the brushed version the hat is fluffier and you feel alpaca wool more than silk.
The term "bouclé" comes from the French word meaning "curled," which describes the yarns curls of wool and silk- its loops and knots made on purpose during spinning. In the fashion world, bouclé has held a steady place for decades, particularly in luxurious clothing pieces.
